Electrical vehicles are gaining great traction both from political and customer perspectives and will increasingly become a more crucial product for BMW within China market. They will help enable the company targets for sustainability and the path towards emission free mobility. To ensure the success of electrified vehicles in China, charging as a mandatory basic function must be ensured. Due to the complexity of China specific charging standards, infrastructure, supply equipment, etc. the implementation and verification of Chinese country versions of vehicles as well charging equipment and charging networks rely on the responsibilities of the associate. A broad understanding of electrical energy transfer, Chinese national standards, and China charging infrastructure is essential. Further newly developed charging functions, equipment, charging networks have to be adapted for China and implemented in accordance with project timelines. Major Responsibilities * Work on the development chain through benchmarking, conceptualization, specification and verification of BMW driven charging network(s), incl. but not limited to, technical screening of existing and emerging branded charging networks, charging networks of ranking public charging operators, concept design, definition of charging network associated charger in terms of both hardware and software. * Conduct operational work of HPC product development, such as procurement and bidding support, change of requirements, branded charger and charging network verification, product certificates management and release, further development of BMW branded charging network, etc. * Support Function Owners and BE/SE-teams to develop BMW functions and components, contributing to the achievement of Charging Strategy Number One. * Closely monitor on the development and deployment of China charging infrastructure, incl. but not limited to public charging infrastructure, semi-public charging infrastructure, OEM proprietary charging solutions, battery swapping stations, mobile charging services, compound charging solutions, etc. * Closely monitor and work on emerging charging technologies and services, e.g. HPC, low power DC charging, smart charging, green electricity utilization, ACD, wireless charging solution, charging V2X i.e. V2G, V2L, V2H, V2V, emergency charging solution, etc. Carry out innovation projects, POC, etc. * Develop business network with relevant local manufacturers and infrastructure suppliers, e.g. companies that are active in contributing to charging equipment, network and standards, based on which, deliver charging infrastructure actual status, trend and prognosis. * Analyze, interpret and comment on relevant charging standards and requirements, mainly but not limited to charging equipment and charging system. * Evaluate a “charging package” together with local market responsible, which can be offered to BMW customers and provides maximum of safety, premium experience in terms of handling, billing, etc. * Contribute to the development of charging value added services e.g. customer APP, plug
